Goodbye February, Hello March...
No Takers from spiritwarrior on Comiqs
February went by so fast. Throughout that month, I have experienced a major redefining on what blogging is all about and it all started by a tip from a fellow blogger. I was surfing the net and stumbled on a tip that read something like this “65000 hits sitehoppin + entrecard + social bookmarking”. Curious as I am in making my first real blog site and getting a lot of traffic, I immediately decided to sign up on sitehoppin , entrecard, and some social bookmarking sites. That one particular decision spelled the biggest difference in my blogging life. It became a lot more exciting and interesting to say the least. My blog, Prove Me Wrong, although a month old is now getting 300+hits daily, and for that matter, it is beginning to establish a readership base. My email inbox has also been receiving lots of comments regarding my blog. I cannot believe that one simple line of tip can be so effective. Unfortunately, I'm unable to share to you that site where I got my tip from, because I have accidentally deleted the bookmarked site while rearranging the hundreds of entrecard premium blogs in my bookmark folders.
Interestingly enough, the hundreds of entrecard blogs I go through everyday are mostly quality sites. I’ve learned a lot from those sites, from a variety of life’s experiences to business and technical know-how. I don’t read each and every post of those sites but if I scan something that catches my attention, I take a breather from dropping entrecards to read the post and leave a comment.
Well, goodbye February, hello March. What’s in store for me this month? I really don’t know but I will live my blogging life to be as equally exciting and interesting like last month. I will certainly ride that momentum, and make it as my initiative to give you my fellow bloggers quality contents.
I would like to make special mention to the unknown blogger that got me started in this wonderful journey. Thank you very much. Good luck to all and happy blogging.
Ps. I now have two more unique blogs losing weight intentionally and entreblogger, and a mini mall site about mobile phones.

Laughter Is Still The Best Medicine
Warning: Please don't hold your laughter. Stomach pain is an adverse side-effect. Occasional overload of tears has also been recorded. If these reactions have been experienced, hug everyone around you or share this video to your love ones. Based on clinical studies, an overdose of laughter will also increase your libido. Toyopet and Ford Fiera
I never thought I'd be writing about this subject but since I'm taking dNeero's survey about cars, I might as well write something relevant. I had lunch at my dad's home last Sunday, and one of the things he talked about again (lol) was about his 5 year old Honda civic and the older cars he had. He's very satisfied with the Civic and the service he gets from Honda that he never miss telling me about how reliable and efficient it was. He also talked about Toyopet and Ford Fiera, saying these were cars from the old days that my grandma bought as a runabout vehicle and to haul them to and from school. The Toyopet which lasted for about 5 years was sold because it became too small for a growing family, and was eventually replaced by Ford Fiera, a 15 seater. He can't remember how long the Fiera lasted because it was used till it became junk. I was curious how these things look like, so I did a little research and found these images on the net. Have you ever heard or seen these cars?

Did this cross your mind?
As of Feb 1, 7:59PM ET
Microsoft is worth $283.490 billion
Apple is worth $117.540 billion
Google is worth $161.394 billion
So why am I posting this? Something really big is about to happen in the internet's future. One of these companies will most likely buy fledging Yahoo Inc. Microsoft initiated it first but will most likely face a lot of opposition regarding antitrust etc. Google and Yahoo as partners could be a viable alternative. Apple has the bucks and could very well join the party. This is the Super Bowl of the internet giants and I'm anxiously waiting for the results. And for those of us relying on Adsense for extra income, will any merger make a difference? Well, I'm keeping Adbright affiliation just in case :) What do you think?

What's in a carrot?
Many times in the past, I've been told to eat carrots because of my vision problems. They say it will improve my eyesight. So I wondered, what's in a carrot that's good for me. Ahh, beta carotene. It's what gives carrot the orange color and converts to vitamin A in our body which helps improve vision. Vitamin A produces a purple pigment called rhodopsin. It is a pigment of the retina that is responsible for both the formation of the photoreceptor cells and the first events in the perception of light. Meaning, it let's you see in dim light. Smart aleck Bugs Bunny was right after all.
Carrot has indeed improve my vision. I've also discovered that the beta carotene in carrots is an anti oxidant that helps eliminate free radicals in our body that contribute to conditions like heart disease, macular degeneration, and cancer among other things.
Nowadays, I mix carrots with my favorite juice drink in a blender. It breaks down the carrot fibers thus producing beta carotene faster. So be sure to include carrots in your daily intake. Happy eating to all.

Rule of 72
Amaze your friends, family, and associates by telling them instantly how long it takes money to double on a fixed interest rate compounded monthly. (edited to show monthly and not annually, jhny's comment below has proven me wrong)
Here's how:
To find the number of years required to double your money at a given interest rate, you just divide the interest rate into 72. For example, if you want to know how long it will take to double your money at 8% interest, divide 8 into 72 and you get 9 years. This works vice versa if you want to know the interest given the number of years your money will double.
All you have to remember is the number 72. So next time you're in a bank or someone tells you that he/she can double your money in a number of years or given a percentage point , you know what to do.
ex. Someone approach you to invest in a business venture and says that your money will double in 3 years. Divide 72 by 3=24%. Meaning, the business has to make at least 24% to double your money and more than that for the venture to last. Sounds like a very risky investment isn't it?
Vice versa, someone tells you to put your money in a time deposit with an interest rate of say 3% compounded monthly. Now the expert in you comes alive--72 divide by 3=24. Meaning your money will double in 24 long years.
